Programme Overview: 

The increasing use of ionising radiation in medical sector needs the well trained workers and comprehensive implementation of radiation protection programme.This one day course is specially design to create awareness on the ionising radiation which needs special attention to the radiation safety in order to protect the safety of staffs and patients. Thus, this CME course will equip participants with the necessary knowledge on ionising radiation emphasising on the aspects of radiation protection and safety procedures in line with the requirement of the Atomic Energy Licensing Act 1984. It is also  design to contribute in nurturing the safety culture at workplace leading to the improvement of safety performance.

  • Basic information on ionising radiation
  • Principles of radiation protection
  • Biological effects of ionising radiation
  • Basic radiological monitoring and measurement  (Including QC and dose reduction)
  • Regulation of Radiation Protection and Atomic Energy Licensing Act
  • Organisation and program for radiation protection
  • Safety and working procedures in medical radiography (Including emergency procedures)


  • CME recognition from MOH
  • CPD point from MMA
